Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 09:21PM Vin Sparano, senior editor of Outdoor Life Magazine, was recently fishing with captain Richard Stanczyk and Captain Dave Peck of Oregen Inlet, and caught this nice 12 lb bonefish, along with another smaller one just last week. The weather was pretty nasty, blowing almost 30 mph, but stake-up fishing along the flats proved to be good!

Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 12:30PM Tarpon have been showing up, good bite after sunset. Captain Vic Gaspeny has been catching them regularly nearby. Captain Rick Stanczyk has been fishing them locally too, having caught fish the last 3 nights out, as well as a nice snook! Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 11:15AM Our seasonal resident artist, Sam Gibbons, who is well known for his original oil and giclee prints of Bud N' Mary's offshore sportfishing boats, has started printing scenes on swordfish bills. Anglers who catch a swordfish on the B n' M, Catch 22, or any other boat can have their bills preserved and painted. Sam also has bills already available with offshore scenes on swordfish bills. Available with Offshore, day and night, and backcountry scenes. Prices start at $250. Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 08:59PM Fishing in February has been pretty good overall. We have had a lot of cold weather and wind, though fishing has been decent overall. Sailfishing offshore has been steady, a lot of kingfish and mackeral around. Bottom fishing has been good when there has been current on the reef. A few dolphin and tuna showing up as well. Backcountry fishing has been good when it has been warm though the cold water has been shutting things down when the water temperature drops in the 60s. Some snook and redfish in the park, and tarpon fishing has been good when warm enough before and after the sunrise/sunset. Capt. Vic Gaspeny has been catching quite a few. Captain Rick Stanczyk has had nice catches of yellowtail, hogfish, mangrove snappers, and cero mackeral on the patches. Capt. Nick Stanczyk on the BnM has had a few good catches of cobia, sailfish, mackeral, and reef snappers as well. As it warms up through March fishing should really pick up as we move into dolphin/tuna season offshore, and tarpon season in the backcountry! Stay tuned!
