Well we got all the boats out of the marina today due to the approaching storm Fay. It looks like we are going to get strong winds, possibly hurricane force. Everybody is batting down the hatches and we're hoping for the best. Everything should be fine, we'll let you know more after the storm.
Check these pictures out of a 255 lb swordfish jumping! Caught aboard the Catch 22 with Capt. Richard & Scott Stanczyk. 7/30/08
The crew will be doing a TV show here this weekend and we'll get some info and pics on that as soon as we can!
Our local 'barn rat', the infamous 8 year old 'Mikey Meatballs' caught a whopper 46 lb dolphin yesterday while out fishing with Capt. Scott Stanczyk & crew aboard The Catch 22. He fought through the pain and tears to land this fish by himself, after fighting it for over an hour! When the crew returned to the dock, Mikey jumped on the scale after weighing the fish, and it turns out the fish weighed almost exactly as much as he did! Great job Mikey! This will provide dinner for him and Spaghetti Betty for a month!!!
Capt. Richard Stanczyk & angler Vic Gaspeny caught their 118th swordfish yesterday. This fish beat the unofficial record of Dr. Ruben Jaen. The fish was not as big as the record-tying 117th fish, which weight 380 lbs, but is still a great catch for Capt. Richard and Capt. Vic!
