The Captain's Log

Greetings to all!  Things are picking up a little bit as we get closer to our season down here.  Most of the charter boats are finishing up there maintenance and starting to fish again here and there.  Some sailfish and kingfish have been showing up off the edge of the reef, and some good snapper, grouper, and mutton fishing is going on too.  There's been some good snook action in the everglades park as well as some redfish, trout, and some smaller tarpon.  Bonefishing nearby has been decent too.  Lots of action to be had, let's go fishing!  305-664-2461

Big Swordfish

Took Mike and Joni Katz out in search of a swordfish on 11/2/09. Mike said he wanted to catch a swordfish before he kicks the bucket, and we did just that. On the first drop of the day Mike hooked up and within an hour put a 270 lb swordfish in the boat. They'll be eating well for quite a while. Congrats Mike!

St. Thomas Trip

Captains Richard, Scott, Rick, and Nick Stanczyk fished in St. Thomas for a few days this past week on the boat J.A.C.S that Capt. Nick Stanczyk works on part time.  They had a great time and caught 4 night blue marlin in 3 days fishing, having one day where they saw 5 fish.  1 fish was roughly 175 lbs, two were around 200 lbs, and one was a little over 300 lbs!  This was pretty good being a week or so after the full moon.  Here's some pictures!

Catch 22 440 lb swordfish!

Capt. Scott and Richard Stanczyk of the Catch 22 caught a 440 lb swordfish yesterday, while filming a short film for "How To Do Florida".  This will be airing on flights inboard to Orlando's airport!  Nice Catch!
