12/29-30/2011 Hot Daytime Swordfishing Bite!

The Daytime Swordfish bite has been on fire the last two days! We had Nick and Jamie out from Long Island, New York on the BNM yesterday and managed to catch 5 broadbill swordfish! The fish weren't huge, but a few were legal size and we kept a couple for dinner. Congrats to both of them on their first Swords. The Catch 22 had a great trip today catching 4 broadbills with a pair of keepers up to 85 lbs. They released the other 2 fish to fight another day. If you ever want to catch a swordfish there's no place more consistent than fishing in Islamorada! Book your Daytime Swordfishing Charter for next year soon. We use all conventional tackle and there's nothing like seeing a swordfish in the daytime.

On the Reef the last 2 days fishing has been decent. The Sailfishing has been a little tough, but there's been a few caught each day. The king mackerel bite is still really good though and most boats have been limiting out on them with fish in the 5 to 25 lb range. Yesterday there was quite a few nice cobias caught, but today most the cobias were on the short side. The boats that have been anchoring up and bottom fishing have been catching enough snapper for dinner and a couple boats today each had a grouper.

December 26/27/28 2012 Reef Fishing Report!

It's been a busy few days since Christmas for most of the Islamorada Deep Sea Fishing boats at Bud N Mary's Marina. The fishing has been pretty good all around with a little bit of everything. The BNM caught a couple of swordfish to 50 lbs on the 26th, and the Catch 22 released 3 daytime broadbill swordfish today on the 28th. The sailfish bite has been fair. There's been a handful caught each day between all the boats at the marina, but not more than a couple per boat. The Kingfish bite has been red hot. Most boats have been limiting out each trip with fish from 5 to 20 lbs. The Relentless had a 50# wahoo and both the Cloud Nine and Kalex had some Cobias to 35 lbs. The Finnster had a great catch of big Yellowtail snapper in the 3 - 5 lb range today as well as plenty of kingfish. The Redfish had a few groupers too including a nice 25 lb Gag grouper.  There's still some boats open the next week and the next few days look great weather wise so give the Marina a call at 1 800 742 7945 if you want to get out for a trip while your on vacation.

12-23/24 Islamorada Offshore Fishing Report

It's Christmas tomorrow but that didn't stop some people from getting out on the boat for their Islamorada Fishing Trip the last couple of days. Yesterday we had Mark out on the BNM for a daytime swordfishing charter. We fished last year on Christmas day but came up empty handed. We left early in the morning and ran out 2 hours and sent the first bait down 1500'. After 10 minutes we were hooked up, but the broadbill swordfish got off 1/2 way up. On the third drop Mark caught and released his first ever broadbill swordfish. A few hours later Mark was in the chair again and within 20 minutes put an 80# daytime sword in the boat. On the edge of the Reef today we had the Terry family out on the BNM and released 2 sailfish, kept our limit of kingfish, and also kept a decent mutton snapper for dinner. All of the other boats that reef fished did well too. The Man O War had 5 sailfish releases, the Sugaree had 3, the Kalex had 4 sails as well as a limit of kingfish and yellowtail snapper, the Cloud Nine had a sailfish release as well as a limit of kingfish, the Predator had a limit of kingfish, and the Relentless had a limit of kingfish as well as a handful of Mahi. The weather has been warm and it looks like Christmas week is going to be very nice. Call us at Bud N Mary's Marina and we can get you out for some exciting Florida Keys Fishing! 1 800 742 7945

12-18-11 Deep Sea Fishing Report

Fishing on the edge of the reef has really picked up the last couple of weeks. All the boats that fished today had action. The boats that focused on Islamorada sailfishing did pretty well, the Catch 22 had 4 releases, the BnM had 3 releases, the Kalex had 1.  Those boats as well as the Relentless and The Reel McCoy had lots of king mackerel up to 20 lbs as well as bucket fulls of yellowtail snapper. The Kalex also had a few nice cobia to 30 lbs. This past weekend was the Junior Sailfish Tournament and the Cloud Nine finished in 3rd place with 4 releases. If you haven't booked your Florida Keys Deep Sea Fishing trip for Christmas week, call us now at Bud N Mary's Marina. 1 800 742 7945

12-10-11 Hot Sailfish Bite for The Reel McCoy!

Today was the first day of the Don Gurgulio Sailfish Tournament here in Islamorada. Capt. George on The Reel McCoy managed to catch and release 17 sailfish on the first day alone! The strange thing is that 6 boats caught 0 sailfish and the other 5 boats have 1 release each. You never want to count your chickens before they hatch, but if I had to bet I would say The Reel McCoy is gonna take 1st place in the tournament. Tomorrow is another day of fishing though, and you never know what's going to happen. Great Job Today!!! Good Luck Tomorrow! Get on down here for your Florida Keys Sailfishing Charter!
