10/9/11 Islamorada Bonefish Action!

Capt. Rick Stanczyk fished with Lee and Rob again today on 10/9/11.  Due to weather and conditions we decided to give stake up bonefishing a shot.  The overcast rainy conditions usually turn the fish on especially on the ocean side.  We had mostly in tide and high water, not the greatest conditions, but we gave it a try.  We ended up catching 2 bonnet heads early on, and the rain started to pour with thunder.  So we ducked in back to the marina and waited it out for 20 minutes, went back out with just a drizzle of rain.  Lee ended up catching this nice 8-9 lb bonefish himself!  After that we moved around since the small picker fish were eating the shrimps off as fast as you could put them out.  The weather improved, though the tide died, and didn't start falling till we were about to go in.  Though catching one islamorada bonefish is worth it these days!  Capt. Lonny Shaw and Capt. Jim Willcox reported catching a couple each the day before as well.

10/1/11 Great bonefishing here in Islamorada!

October has brought us our first cold front of the Fall season.  This usually pushes different fish to different places, and brings us some welcome cooler temperatures.  While it is just a few degrees, it can make a BIG difference on the fishing!  Capt. Vinnie Biondoletti fished Gary and Alex Ash and caught numerous trout and redfish in the backcountry.  Though they ended their day fishing nearby Islamorada and caught seven bonefish!  Amazing fishing!  There have been several reports of bonefish pushing off the ocean side and even in the bay the last few weeks, so get out there and enjoy some florida keys fishing october!

8/27/11 Islamorada bonefish action today!

Capt Jim Willcox was chased back from Flamingo by T Storms today...& caught 4 islamorada bonefish oceanside, proof that there is always plan B in Islamorada!!!  Some nasty storm cells pushed through with the WNW wind and chased just about everybody back home.  After dodging the rain for a little bit at the dock, the conditions after the storm were great!  Very beautiful water around the bay and ocean sides, and look for some upcoming september fishing reports florida keys!

3/10/11 Cold front coming means... great fishing!

Capt. Jim Willcox and Capt. Rick Stanczyk fished a 3/4 day this morning due to the cold front coming today.  The sky turned black and winds were extremely nasty by 12:30 or so.  We had our british group from the UK down and a couple of the guys fancied catching a bonefish, and with the front coming in that was ideal conditions to try some stake up fishing.  Capt. Jim put them on 3 bones this morning, here's a picture of a nice 7 lber!  Part of Capt. Rick's crew wanted to catch a tarpon in a bad way so we ran back into the everglades for that.  Fishing was very good early, caught 1 out of 3 tarpon bites we had, possibly 4, plus a few blacktip sharks and a big nurse shark!  We also caught plenty of trout, ladyfish, jacks while doing so and a few pompano too!
