Well it was a chilly afternoon but the Steiner's decided it was worth a shot. We fished an afternoon 1/2 day trip on the reef and caught our limit of kingfish to 10 lbs and 6 yellow jacks to 14 lbs... not a bad afternoon of fishing...

Patches are hot

Well with the weather getting in the 50s here at night the backcountry fishing has slowed up considerably.  Capt. Rick Stanczyk fished a half day this afternoon on Sunday and had some good luck on the patches.  He caught a bunch of yellowtail snappers and jacks, a few big enough to keep.  He also caught plenty of black, red, and gag grouper, and 4 mutton snappers, 2 of which were over 16 inches!  They also caught and released a 100 lb goliath grouper!  With the wind very cold and out of the north, it was comfortable fishing the patches and made for a great day!
