young shark fishermen get Christmas surprise

Ben Friedman and John McWard fished the backcountry December 23. Every year they come down to BudnMarys and they love to catch sharks. This day it was blowing from the northeast about 25mph. We ducked in behind 9mile bank in the lee and set up our chum line. Many bluefish and ladyfish were caught and used for bait. First big fish was a 100lb tarpon for Ben. After that 9 lemon sharks,3 bull sharks and 3 spinner sharks were caught and released. The boys were wore out.

Big Permit on a windy day.

Captain. Jim Willcox took Kevin Dunn from England fishing on 12/11/08 for a half day.  Though it was blowing 25-30mph, they decided to stake up on the edge of a flat and fish.  They ended up catching a huge permit oceanside while bonefishing.  Just goes to show there is always something to catch, even on a windy day!
