Casting for Cats Tournament
Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 12:44PM On Saturday I had the pleasure of fishing my wife Cyd and my doctor Joanne Mahoney in a charity tournament benifitting feral cats.
Cyd took top honors and Joanne came in as runner up hi point bait angler.
Our catches consisted of 5 big tarpon and 10 blacktip sharks. Cyd won the largest tarpon trophy as well with an estimated 90lber.
These tarpon and sharks were caught using Fox Sportfishing rods and reels and braided 10lb line.
Also this week the Spanish Mackerel have migrated in the the western parts of Florida Bay bigtime. Lots of action with them along with mangrove snapper,ladyfish and seatrout.
I had a couple guys from Wales fishing this week that ended up having to doubleteam a huge sawfish estimated at 15 feet long. what a battle for these guys. nice job. a fish of a lifetime no doubt.
So all in all everything is biting well at the moment except the snook bite is off.
