Tarpon Season breaks wide open

Debbie Riola of Grand Rapids,Michigan fought and estimated 150lb+ tarpon for 1 hour 40 minutes yesterday. we were fishing near sandy key when she hooked the monster fish.  congrads Debbie. fighting a tarpon that tough unassisted is quite a feat.

In the afternoon I took John and Evan Svoboda from Omaha,Nebraska out for a sunset tarpon trip. Using live mullet Evan and John each released  2 tarpon up to 100lbs. We missed a few more.

Mullet have shown up in the channels and backcountry in force and the tarpon have keyed in and as the water temp has finally hit 72 degrees are chowing down.
