Fishing on Friday the 13th? Sounds good...
Friday, May 13, 2011 at 06:26PM We took Blaire Howard out today aboard the BNM for a Daytime Swordfish Charter. I know it was Friday the 13th, but I figured we still had a shot. We make it out to the grounds and on the first drop we hook up. Twenty minutes later, Blaire puts his first ever swordfish on the deck. Not a monster, but a 50 lber, perfect for dinner. We also have a few dolphin swim up to us and we catch a handful of those. We make a few more drops for swords, missing a couple cheap bites. We finally hook up again with another sword and Blaire releases about a 25 lber! With a fish in the boat and a release, we head home. We stop and catch a couple of more dolphin on the way home before hitting the dock. Yesterday we went on a reef fishing trip and caught 25 yellowtail snapper, two king mackerel, a nice black grouper, and a few other reef dwellers. It was a lot of action in the afternoon after a slow start in the morning.
