Scott and Brent Kephart each catch a backcountry grand slam

fishing with Captain Skip Nielsen the last few days the Kephart brothers had come close each day but had not caught all 3 species on the same day. A backcountry slam consists of Tarpon,Redfish and Snook. Brent and Scott put it all together today releasing a Tarpon each, 2 Snook each and 3 Redfish each. We ended the day with a mess of Mangrove Snapper for the table.

The Tarpon were estimated at 75lbs apiece.

Snook fishing has improved by the day and the Redfish are biting around the backcountry islands in Florida Bay. Tarpon are cruising the beaches of Cape Sable as they migrate north.

Also plenty of big Sharks are around at the moment and you have to be fast landing a snook or red or it becomes dinner for a shark.

congradulations Scott and Brent Kephart on your slams.
