Sibling Rivalry... A sword for the brother...
Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 07:05PM Two days ago aboard the BNM we had 10 year old Derek catch a 211 lb Daytime Swordfish. His 11 year old brother Konrad wasn't going to go home empty handed, so we ventured back out deep today. On our first drop we hooked up. After a 45 minute fight, Konrad caught his first Swordfish! A chunky 109 lber! Great Work by another extremely young angler! We are fishing in over 1500' of water with a conventional reel! On the way home we hit a couple schools of dolphin, keeping about 15 fish to 12 lbs. It was an exciting swordfish charter! I had Brent and his wife out yesterday for swordfish, but it was one of the slowest days we've ever had. We never had a sword bite. Just an off day I suppose. It's still always fishing in the end. Brent did catch and release this decent size snook on the way in too, which was his first ever.
