11-9-12 Islamorada Reef fishing in November
The wind picked up today and it looks like it's going to be choppy this weekend while Fishing in November in Islamorada. The past few days have been pretty active for the boat fishing fishing on the Reef. The Redfish anchored down for some bottom fishing a couple days ago and limited out on great eating snapper, mostly yellowtail snapper but they also had a few nice mutton snappers mixed in. Yesterday both the Catch 22 and Relentless got in on a late season blackfin tuna bite. The fish were anywhere from 3 to 15 lbs. The sailfish simmered down for a couple of days but yesterday afternoon, after a very uneventful morning, the Kalex hooked a triple header. Over the next few hours they managed to release 8 sails, Great Job! Today there were a few sails around again, the Catch 22 released a couple and the Kalex released one as well. The Fearless and Relentless both did 1/2 day fishing trips today and had an assortment of snapper, grouper, barracuda, and a couple tuna between the two.
