April 20th-23rd 2012 Fishing Report
Friday was the last day of nice weather before we had awful weather over the weekend which included tons of rain, lightning and high winds. We Jon from England out on the Catch 22 for some DAYTIME SWORDFISHING and managed to catch and release one broadbill swordfish around 50 lbs. We also caught a handful of "football" blackfin tuna on the way out as well as a mahi. On the way home from the day time swordfish charter Capt. Scott saw a free jumping sailfish and lined up right below him. A quick cast with a live pilchard gave Andres his first Florida Keys Sailfish Release. Andy Newman snapped a couple great jumping shots! Today on Monday the weather got pretty nice again and the fishing was good. The BNM and Relentess had very similar catches including yellowtail snapper, amberjack, and a few dolphin a piece. The Reel McCoy headed south in search of sailfish and saw a handful and managed to release 2 sails. It looks like a nice week ahead so we'll see what else happens.
