4-26/27-12 Florida Keys Offshore Fishing Report
The "tailing" conditions still held up yesterday for sailfish off the Florida Keys. The deep sea fishing boats that did full days had plenty of time to run down south for some great action. Capt. George on the Reel McCoy put his anglers on 17 sailfish releases. Capt. Nick on the BNM put his anglers on 10 sailfish releases, a 30 lb cobia, and a few mahi to 12 lbs. Capt Merv on the Redfish had a handful of dolphin, including a couple "gaffers". Today the conditions were still good, but definitely fading from the last couple days. There was limited visibility inbetween all the cloud coverage, but it didn't stop the boats from still having some good catches. The Reel McCoy released 9 sailfish, the Kalex and Sugaree each had 4 sailfish releases, the Catch 22 and Relentless had 3 releases, the Fearless had 2 releases, and the BNM had 1 release as well as a 45 lb cobia for 11 year old angler Jack! There was a handful of dolphin (mahi) in the mix too. The sailfish bite will most likely slow down some and we will start concentrating on dolphin and everyone is looking forward to the opening of grouper season on May 1st.
