4-7-12 Giant Tiger SHARKS!!!

John and Eric came down from New York for some Florida Keys Shark Fishing aboard the BNM. Last year we fished and managed to catch and release a big hammerhead around 300 lbs. This year's trip was going to be a little different. On the first drift we had a bite, but he didn't take the whole bait. So we reset and drifted again. After about 20 minutes the drag started ticking off, and within seconds the 80 wide reel was singing and the rod was doubled over. John got in the chair and we bumped up the drag to 20 lbs and he went to work. Within 30 minutes John had an estimated 800-900 lb tiger shark boatside! We took some pictures and video for a couple minutes and then released the shark to fight another day. We reset and put out a fresh amberjack for bait. Everyone was happy having caught the one shark, but within 10 minutes we were hooked up again. Eric got in the chair and went to work on another big shark. Within 25 minutes we had another tiger shark alongside the boat ready to photograph. It was a big fish, easily 500 lbs, which we took a few pics of and then released him into the blue. We caught another amberjack after that before working our way towards home. The Strictly Business caught a few amberjack in the morning and then looked for dolphin in the afternoon. They weren't swarming but they did find a nice piece of debris and managed to catch 10 mahi, including a couple to be gaffed off it. The Cloud Nine also had a few mahi and some king mackerel. The Gon Fishing had a bucket full of yellowtail snapper as well as some mackerel too. Book your Islamorada Fishing Trips today!
