1-8-13 Offshore Fishing Islamorada

The wind picked up this afternoon, but the past few days have been pretty nice while offshore fishing in Islamorada. The New Years rush slowed down a little but there's still plenty of boats getting out to give youa Florida Keys Fishing Report! The Relentless had a 3 day party and sailfish was the target species. On the 6th they managed 1 release and saw a few others. Yesterday they had 4 releases and today was even better! They released 7 sailfish in Islamorada! The Fearless was also hot today and released 6 sails, and caught a 15 lb blackfin tuna for dinner! The Catch 22 released 2 sails, the Predator and Reel McCoy each released 1 sail. The Predator also had 8 king mackerel and 25 yellowtail snapper. The Redfish also got in on the mackerel bite this morning on their 1/2 day trip and had a limit of king mackerel. On the 6th the Finnster fished a morning trip and caught an unexpected bull dolphin weighing in at 20 lbs! They also released a sailfish and missed another. The Bn'M caught a few king mackerel that day as well as some amberjack. The Gon Fishin V released a sailfish and had some yellowtail snapper and porgies for dinner on their last trip. Yesterday the Kalex released 2 sails too. It seemed like a new body of sailfish moved in today, so if you can handle the wind thats here for the next few days you may want to try your hand reef fishing in the Florida Keys. Look for the sailfish release flags flying the next few days! If you notice a white flag hanging on the out rigger of the boats it represents a sailfish release (or a red triangular flag).
