12-19-13 Mid December Deep Sea Fishing Report for Islamorada
We had a weak cold front pass through a couple days ago and it made the temperature just perfect for deep sea fishing Islamorada. There's been a little bit of everything on the edge of the Reef. The bottom fishing has been very good lately, with some nice mutton snappers from 4 - 15 lbs, a handful of black, red, and gag grouper, lots of yellowtail snapper, and still some mangrove snapper. All of these fish are great eating and white meat too. The sailfishing has been fair at best the last few days, with a handful caught each day combined between the offshore fishing charters. The king mackerel have been showing up more and more each week too. There's been some nice "smokers" (20 + lb kings) on the dock too. The bottom fishing should remain good as long as the current flows with the wind, and the sailfish bite was definitely more active today, so hopefully it continues to get better each day this coming week.
