Summer time is here!

Hey everyone!  Capt. James Chappell from the charter boat "Catchalottafish" here with an exciting report!  What great fishing we have going on offshore right now with the summertime fish moving in and the winter time fishing still doing well!  There are Mahi-Mahi (so good you gotta say it twice!) offshore with tunas and Jacks on the humps, and Sailfish, Kingfish, Snappers and groupers in on the reef!  What a trip we can have with all these great fish here at one time! There has also been a great Tarpon bite in close.  We also offer evening shark trips as well for those of you that might get a bit queasy on those offshore trips!   Check us out when booking your trip, and let's get out there on the water!  Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

whats biting

Well summer has finally showed it face!!  The dolphin fishing is starting to pick up on the backside of the moon.  We caught 20 nice lifters and gaffers last week with a couple of 20 pounders mixed in.  It should only get better.  On the reef the yellowtails are BITING as well as the Kingfish.  There are still quite a few straggling sailfish being caught.  The N.E. wind along with a east current is helping the last few migraters push to the surface and they are HUNGRY.  The permit have moved onto the wrecks and have been cooperating well.  We caught three yesterday, includung one well over thirty pounds.

Backcountry Fishing Report 4/23/08 Capt. Skip Neilsen

Capt. Skip had his wife Cyd Nielsen went in the backcountry with their niece Mandy from Knoxville along with her fiancee Brandt Snedeker. (He placed 3rd in the Masters golf gournament in Augusta, Georgia!) Cyd & Mandy each caught grand slams of tarpon, redfish, and snook! Last night Brandt released his first really big tarpon, an estimated 140 lbs, caught with a live mullet. The westerly winds as of late have the tarpon fishing a little off, but the snook bite out west of Cape Sable was very good. Skip had 16 releases today and kept a 31" for dinner!

Well Richard and the guys went out on 4/22/08 and did alright.  They caught 2 swords.  They had a shark eat off  a 3rd one before the wind really picked up and the headed in.  I'll try and post some pictures soon.
