7-6-12 Islamorada Deep Sea Fishing Report
The weather has been beautiful here the past week. Fishing was a little tough right on the Full Moon, with the fish feeding all night with the bright sky, but it picked up a lot the last couple of days. There's been some great catches of dolphin (mahi), anywhere from 3 lbs up to 40 lbs! A few boats each day have been catching a rack full and all the boats have been catching some on Full day charters. In addition to the dolphin there's been a couple of wahoo, blackfin tuna, grouper, and a couple of sailfish. The daytime swordfish bite has been fair too. The BnM caught one today and the Catch 22 had 2 a couple of days ago, including a 159 lber as well as a 300 lb big eye thresher shark. The Relentless had two bull dolphin over 40 lbs this week and the Finnster had a nice rack of dolphin today too. The dolphin fishing looks like it might stay good here the next few days on the back side of the full moon so get on down here for your Islamorada Fishing Trip.
