8-11-12 Islamorada Offshore and Reef Fishing Report

The seas started calming down today and the rain storms were spread out. Yesterday the boats that went offshore did really well for the most part. Both the Finnster and Strictly Business had a rack full of mahi, including some nice fish from 10 to 25 lbs. Today the bite offshore was pretty tough for most the boats, but the Catch 22 hit a couple of good schools of fish early, up to about 8 lbs. The Reef Fishing was very good today. The Redfish had a nice black grouper, a big mutton snapper, a few yellowtail and mangrove snapper, a couple of king mackerel, and some bonitos, and the Finnster had a limit of yellowtail and mangrove snapper. There should be some more good pushes of dolphin (mahi) the next few weeks, and hopefully some more blackfins show up on the humps. Book your Islamorada Offshore Fishing Trip soon!
