Offshore in September

We fished 5 days last week and fishing was really good the first few days and fair the last couple days. We swordfished all day on Friday and caught 1 sword 142 lbs, also had one other bite we missed. The next day we had 15 decent size dolphin up to about 12 lbs, 6 blackfin tuna up to 26 lbs, and a nice snowy grouper. The last few days we had a variety of a few dolphin, some tilefish, a handful of yellowtail and mutton snapper, and some skipjack tuna.

9-2-10 Tuna and Dolphin

Aboard the Bn'M today we caught 18 blackfin tuna on the small/medium size and we also caught 35 dolphin up to 30 lbs. It was really nice to see some good dolphin fishing and hopefully it will continue for a little while.

8-15/8-16-10 Offshore

On the 15th we had Andy and his two sons, Derek and Conrad, out for a full day and we caught 20 blackfin tuna, and 15 snappers, mostly vermillions but each of the boys caught their first red snapper which we released after a quick picture. On the 16th we had a bunch of blackfins again, one lonely dolphin, some tilefish and one nice grouper.

8-12-10 Swordfish aboard the Bn'M

We caught this 80 lb swordfish on Thursday, and lost another after 30 minutes right at the boat. We also had a dozen dolphin to 10 lbs as well.

August Dolphin...

The dolphin fishing the past week has been pretty good, with lots of decent sized fish in the 5 to 12 lb range. Here's a picture of Matthew Buchman and his wife Ashley with some dolphin and wahoo they caught yesterday while on vacation.
