Big Swordfish aboard Catch 22!

Last week the Catch 22 boated a 332 lb broadbill with Jimmy Boone and his gang. They also had 6 slammer dolphin (20 to 30 lbs). The past couple of days there's been a handful of dolphin around each day as well as lots of blackfin tuna in the 5 to 12 lb range. We also had some tilefish and a wahoo today.

Mixed bag of Fish

The offshore fishing has been hit and miss on the dolphin the past week but there has been some decent tilefishing and grouper fishing out there. The reef has been pretty good with king and cero mackerel and lots of yellowtails and mangrove snappers. We also had a 9 year old boy release his first sailfish too.

Swordfish and Dolphin

We swordfished 3 days in a row and caught 1 each trip, had a some other bites we missed as well. Ken Morris caught his first 2 swordfish, a 95 lber and then the second day got a beauty, which weighed 214 lbs! Mike Broadbent released a 40 lber our last trip out. The dolphin fishing improved a lot the past week from what it had been, we had 20 to 30 fish each day, including 10 big ones up to 45 lbs!

School Kids are on the loose!!!

We've had a lot of kids and their families out the past week and they have been catching lots of fish. Offshore we've caught a couple of swords, boats have been catching plenty of schoolie dolphin with a few nicer ones mixed in, on the reef the yellowtail snapper bite has been great, and there still is a few permit around as well. We also caught a handful of nice blackfin tuna up to 28 lbs.

Summer is kicking in...

The Dolphin fishing was still really good until the wind drop out early last week, which made it a little tougher, but there still were a fair amount of fish. The blackfin tuna bite was great though, as well as permits, and a couple of sailfish and swordfish.
